The Issue Of Long Queues in RP Canteens

Long queues in canteens posts as a matter that everyone dreads. But why? Long queues obstruct the path when people want to walk. When the queue at food stalls gets too long, other people will have difficulty navigating their way through the crowd.

The first group of people that will be affected by the long queues are the food stall vendors. If the queue gets too long, the vendors will feel pressured and this could lead to them being confused between orders. One thing that I observed at the South Canteen Fried Chicken Stall is the long queue and there was once when the aunty gave my friend the wrong order. This is due to the fact that the aunty was stressed because of the long queue and she got mixed up between customers' orders.

Another group of people that will be affected are the students. If the queues get too long, students may not have enough time to get their food during the break. This could potentially affect their performance in class. I interviewed my friend and she said that she will not be able to focus during lessons if she is hungry. Thus, long queues may indirectly affect the students' performance during lessons.

The third group of people that will be affected by the long queues are the lecturers. These lecturers will be affected as there may be a delay in them ordering the food and they may then reach class late. The lessons will then be dragged and it may end late. Thus, long queues may also pose as an issue for the lecturers.

In conclusion, long queues can have effect on many groups of people and it shows that a small matter like long queues can also result in many effects both directly and indirectly.
